The Wildcats opened up the season against a talented and well coached Tualatin team, led by the returning Three Rivers League player of the year. With some first game jitters to work through, Westview battled through some early turnovers before settling down and playing its best basketball in the second half.

Senior Center, Jack Poling, led the way with 19 points and 5 rebounds, including a perfect 5/5 performance from the free throw line. Seniors Shasank Bonthala, Andrew Bear and Eric Anderson all earned their first career Varsity start and showed glimpses of what can be expected this season. Bear grabbed a career high 5 rebounds, while Bonthala scored a career high 11 points. Anderson led the way with 3 assists.

10 Wildcats made their Varsity debut and strong defensive performances by juniors Koby Hawley and Wayne Jamison were highlights for the home squad. Anderson and Junior Kobe Newton each took charges and Newton had several others that looked good but were called differently.

The Wildcats next take the floor at Barlow on Wednesday evening at 7:30pm.
