XC Week of October 1, 2018:

Nike Portland XC brought many PR’s to date! Athletes were in fields of nearly 200 plus athletes in all races. The coaching staff is impressed with the times and grit of the athletes. As we head into October, athletes need to prioritize their time between academics, athletics and being rested properly (as well as eating/hydrating). We have a ways to go in order to prepare for Districts and States.

Willamette Valley Pie Fundraiser: This is XC’s biggest fundraiser. Funds are going to equipment, Varsity uniforms, possible new tent(s), and athletes in need. These locally sourced and handmade pies are delicious! Shout out to Shal Patton, Shay Russell and Teri Poole for organizing this fundraiser. Athletes will be given order forms this week at practice. All orders due on October 24th. Pies are delivered to Westview on November 13th for you to pick up. We are asking every athlete to sell at least 4 pies/orders. Teachers and staff will buy from athletes!

October  5: Team dinner at Allie Heussner’s  home. These athletes can eat. Please sign up to bring food. Thank you!

October 6 Harrier Classic at Bryant Park, Albany : See for race times and directions. This is a busy day. Athletes must have lunch, snacks, water bottle and money (optional) for concessions and swag. We meet at Westview at 7:00am and return at approx. 4pm. There is a gate fee for spectators. We are not stopping for food on the way home due to Homecoming dance. Parents, we need donated bars and bananas for athletes at the meet. Thank you.

Athletes that miss workout days are subject to not racing in the next meet.

Athletes that think they are injured or sore from running MUST attend practice! The coaching staff will evaluate you.
